    Privacy Policy

    Effective date: October 17, 2026  ·  Last updated: October 17, 2026

    The short version

Timly runs in your browser. The dates you enter, the school calendar you configure, and any student identifier you type stay on your own device. We never receive them and we cannot see them.

If you subscribe to Timly Pro, our payment processor collects your email and billing information. We do not use analytics cookies. Our email signup form does not contact MailerLite, our email provider, until you click, tap, or tab into it or press Sign me up. At that point your browser loads MailerLite's form scripts, which save a random identifier in your browser.

If you subscribe, your browser checks about once a day that your subscription is still active.

That is the whole picture. The rest of this page explains it in detail.

    1. Who we are

Timly Pro is operated by Jason Romero, a sole proprietor located in California. Contact: usetimly@gmail.com.

    2. What we do not collect

Timly's calculations run entirely in your browser using JavaScript on your device. No calculation input is transmitted to us or to any third party.

Specifically, we do not receive, transmit, or store:

    • Dates you enter, including consent dates, referral dates, and dates of birth
    • Your district's school year dates or break ranges
    • Student initials, case numbers, or any other identifier you type
    • The results of any calculation
    • Any PDF or chart you generate

These stay on your device. If you clear your browser data, they are gone, and we cannot recover them.

Because we never receive student information, Timly does not handle education records as that term is used in FERPA, and we are not a school official, vendor, or service provider with access to student data.

    3. What is stored on your device

Timly uses your browser's local storage to remember:

    • Your school calendar settings, including first and last instructional days, break ranges, and any district policy settings you enable
    • Saved calculations, if you use that feature
    • Your Timly Pro subscription token, if you are a subscriber. It contains your Stripe subscription and customer identifiers. It does not contain your email address.

Local storage is a feature of your own browser. It is specific to that browser on that device, is not shared with us, except for the subscription token as described in section 4, and is not synchronized across your devices. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Timly also registers a service worker so the tool loads quickly and works offline. The service worker caches the application's own files. It does not cache or transmit anything you enter.

    4. Information we do collect

    Payment information

If you subscribe to Timly Pro, payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. Stripe collects your email address, billing information, and payment card details. We never see or store your card number.

We can see, through our Stripe account, your email address, subscription status, and payment history. We use this only to deliver the subscription, send required renewal notices, and respond to support or refund requests.

    Stripe's privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy

    Subscription check

If you subscribe to Timly Pro, your browser sends your subscription token to our server about once a day. Our server asks Stripe whether that subscription is still active and replies yes or no. No date, calendar, student identifier, or calculation result is sent with this check. We do not store the token or keep a record of the check. Our host, Netlify, may keep standard technical request logs, such as IP address and time.

    Email list

The email signup form appears with your calculator results. Showing the form does not contact MailerLite. When you click, tap, or tab into the form or press Sign me up, your browser loads the form's scripts from MailerLite, which save a random identifier in your browser's local storage. If you then sign up, your email address and that identifier are sent to MailerLite. MailerLite receives standard request information, such as your IP address and the site address, but nothing you entered in the calculator.

If you sign up for updates, your email address is stored by MailerLite. We use it to send occasional updates about Timly. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.

    Support correspondence

If you email us, we have your message and your email address in our inbox, like any email.

    5. Who we share with

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

The only third parties that receive any information are the processors named above: Stripe for payment, MailerLite for email, and Netlify, which hosts Timly, runs the subscription check, and, like any web host, receives standard request information such as IP address and the page requested. Each processes it on our behalf under their own terms.

We may disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena.

    6. How long we keep it

Payment records are retained by Stripe. We keep access to subscription records for as long as the account is active and afterward as required for tax and legal purposes, generally seven years. California's automatic renewal law separately requires retaining proof of subscription consent for at least three years, or one year after termination, whichever is longer.

Email list entries are kept until you unsubscribe.

Local storage on your device is kept until you clear it. We have no control over it and no ability to delete it for you.

    7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

Because the information we hold is limited to your email address, subscription status, and payment history, a request will generally be satisfied by exporting or deleting that record.

To make a request, email usetimly@gmail.com. We will respond within 45 days. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.

California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended. Residents of other jurisdictions may have comparable rights under their own laws.

    8. Children

Timly is a professional tool for educators and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Note that Timly is often used in connection with students who are minors. Because student information you enter never reaches us, we do not collect children's information through that use.

    9. Security

Timly is served over HTTPS. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant.

The strongest security property of this product is structural: information that is never transmitted cannot be intercepted in transit or exposed in a breach of our systems. We hold no database of student or calculation data because none exists.

Information stored in your browser is protected by your own device security. If you use Timly on a shared or district computer, be aware that saved calculations remain in that browser profile until cleared.

    10. International users

Timly is operated from the United States and intended for use in the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, any information collected is processed in the United States.

    11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date, and subscribers will be notified by email.
